Happy Friday and first snow day of the year! 

I hope you all have enjoyed the first dusting of snow as we welcome in the joy and magic of the holiday season.  In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I want you all to know how grateful I am for each of you and the part that you play in making the Fawn Lake Fliers an incredible community of neighbors and young athletes.  It has been an honor and joy being your swim team president for these last 3 years, and I am deeply thankful for the opportunity I had serve the team in this way.  After 8 seasons on the board, I am ready to pass the torch and allow new leaders to step in and help guide our team forward.

As we look ahead to an exciting and successful Summer 2026 season, we are reaching out to remind our Fawn Lake Fliers family that we must fill several open board positions before January 1st.  These volunteer roles are essential to keeping our team strong, organized, and ready for another fun and competitive season.  The new board will assume leadership in January 2026, so filling these positions is now an urgent priority.

Our team’s core mission is to instill in our swimmers and their parents the principles of good sportsmanship, teamwork, competitiveness, leadership, community spirit, and individual and team improvement—along with the relentless pursuit of fun in the sport of swimming.

Serving on the board is a wonderful way to support this mission, give back to our swimmers, and work alongside others who share a love of the sport and this community.  We’re looking for dedicated and enthusiastic individuals who value collaboration, strong communication skills, and positive team spirit.  

The following board positions are currently open and need to be filled by the end of this year to ensure a smooth transition and successful planning for next summer:

• Chairperson
  • Oversees all board operations and team functions
  • Leads board meetings and collaborates closely with coaches and parents
  • Sets the vision and direction for each season
  • Ensures effective communication with the HOA Board and Landmarc Management Company
  • Plans and leads the parent meeting 
  • Handles communication of important events and expectations to the team
  • Coordinates the End-of-Season Awards and Party

• Vice Chairperson / RSL Representative 
  • Represents the Fawn Lake Fliers at RSL meetings
  • Serves as the primary liaison between the league and our team
  • Supports the Chairperson and steps in as needed
  • Ensures Home meets are compliant with league expectations and standards
• Secretary
  • Prepares board meeting minutes and posts to Swimtopia website
  • Assists with updating and maintaining Swimtopia website
  • Manages team communications to the larger Fawn Lake community via weekly email announcements 
  • Assists with miscellaneous tasks as needed
• Concessions Coordinator
  • Plans and manages the concessions stand for all home meets
  • Coordinates menu planning, determines item pricing, and manages inventory
  • Shops for all concessions needs 
  • Manages money intake during home meets and communicates with Treasurer to ensure concessions are profitable for the team
  • Ensures smooth setup, operation, and cleanup on meet days

Training and support will be provided for all new board members.
