Heat Advisory Mitigation
Hello FLF families!
I'm sure you are all aware that there is a heat advisory in effect until 9 p.m. this evening.
Our meet is on as scheduled, but we encourage you to take precautions to shield your family from the heat as much as possible.
1) If you have a canopy, please plan on bringing it. I have attached the map of the pool deck so you can see where our team may set up.
Remind your swimmer not to keep caps on in between events to prevent overheating.
2) Wear sunscreen!
3) Drink lots of water and fluids before and during the meet.
Our team is providing the following mitigation strategies:
1) We will have extra coolers of ice available for personal cooling.
2) The team has purchased 3 misting fans that will be set up around the pool deck. Swimmers and swim families may utilize these misters at any time.
3) We will have several sprinkler hoses set up where swimmers can spray themselves to cool down.
As a reminder - the baby pool is OFF LIMITS during the meet. Also, we cannot control kids coming and going from the beach, but we encourage swimmers to stay on the pool deck during the swim meet. There is no lifeguard at the beach so any swimming done there is done at your own risk. We strongly encourage swimmers to remain on the pool deck for the entirety of the meet.
REMINDERS: Apparel will be on sale tonight! Home team swimmers arrive at 4:30 p.m. See coaches to get event numbers written on arms. Arrive early to get a parking spot. Come hungry!
