Congratulations to our Fawn Lake Fliers coaches and swimmers for winning the championship meet for the Patriot Division by almost 200 points!  

This amazing accomplishment is due to your hard work, commitment, and dedication over the entire season.  Our team brought 119 out of 155 athletes for a 77% participation rate.  This is a HUGE improvement from last year when we had only 59% participation.  On behalf of the coaches and the board, THANK YOU for all of the effort you put in this summer to bring our team to victory!

Awards that were not picked up at the award ceremony will be available (weather permitting) for garage pick-up Saturday, Sunday, and Monday July 27-29 at 11201 Bluffs View.  Please pick up your swimmer's participation trophy AND labeled Ziploc bag with champs ribbons & medals if applicable. All bags are organized by gender and age group. 

Now that our season has ended, it is time to do final paperwork to close out the summer.  Thank you to all of our amazing volunteers who made each meet happen.  It was all hands on deck but the teamwork made the dream work!  We are so grateful for our amazing Fawn Lake Community for coming together to support our kids in their love of swimming.  Once a final review is done, the board will be releasing the pre-authorization on the $400 placed at the beginning of the season.  We will be in contact with any families that have not met the agreed upon volunteer policy (copied below) prior to charging their card.  No news is good news!

Volunteer Policy

I acknowledge that I have read the Fawn Lake Fliers Team Handbook and understand the volunteer policy as stated in the Fawn Lake Fliers Team Handbook.

Volunteers are an integral part of swimming. Unlike other sports, swim meets are 100% run by caregiver volunteers.

This year, non-compliance with the volunteer policy will result in a financial penalty of $400 for the season. This conditional fee is being authorized at registration but will NOT be charged to your credit card unless you do not fulfill your volunteer requirements. This is simply a preauthorization and you will be contacted to discuss your volunteer involvement prior to the penalty charge being applied.

One member, (age 16 or up), of each family/guardianship is expected to volunteer for a session for every meet their swimmer(s) compete. We rely heavily on our volunteers--they are essential to the success of a swim meet. Volunteers are responsible for finding their own substitute if they are unable to fulfill their commitment. They must communicate this substitution to the Volunteer Coordinator.

We keep track of volunteers and do our best to make sure there is a fair divide of duties. There are a range of jobs available, including those that require training (referee, stroke-and-turn, head timer, etc.) and those you can do on the spot. If a volunteer can't attend a meet that their swimmer is attending, we will work with you arrange an additional session at another meet.

In addition--volunteering is fun! It makes the meets go quicker, and it provides networking and socializing opportunities among caregivers. This year there will ALWAYS be slots available for volunteer positions no matter how late you sign up, so if you have a preferred job, it is recommended you sign up early.

Families may pay a Volunteer Opt Out Fee of $400, to be paid in full by June 1, 2024. Families paying the voluntary opt out fee are not required to volunteer during the swim meets. If you would like to opt out, please indicate by selecting YES in the Opt Out section and the Treasurer will reach out to you before processing the credit card charge.
