The Last Week of Swim July 17-July 22

The Week Ahead: Please read the full email, there is a lot of key information about important events!
It's our last week of swim team and we have lot's of fun and training to do to prepare for Champs on Saturday at Jeff Rouse 1600 Mine Road, Stafford VA 22554
If your swimmer cannot participate in champs contact coach immediately. Entries are submitted but relays can be substituted. Text me at 540-903-1945. Regular Swim Practice Mon. July 17, Tues. July 18, Thurs. July 20 and Fri. July 21(Be at practice especially if you are swimming champs)
from 8-9am: 10 and under's 9-10am: 11 and up
We still are in need of 13 and up helpers at 10 and under practice this week!

July 19 Christmas in July Practice Swimmers arrive at 8:30am for
pancakes (no drinks provided feel free to bring something from home)
Swimmers may wear Christmas Pajamas, Christmas Sweaters, Christmas hats
and accessories over their swim suit! 9-10am will plan fun games in the
pool.
-Thurs. July 20 Swim Team Movie at Paragon Theater: TBA movie and time. Hoping to go after 12pm. I will update you once we have a time!
-Friday July 21 Pasta Party at the Sports Pavilion from 5:30-7pm.Sign-ups to follow.
Families
may bring any pasta dish, garlic bread, or salads to share with the
team. Make sure to bring your own serving utensil. No drinks will be
provided so feel free to bring your own. Make sure the kids get a good night of rest! Saturday will be a VERY long day!
-Champs is at Jeff Rouse Swim and Sport Center 1600 Mine Road, Stafford VA 22554
1.Please
bring caps (All swimmers should wear a cap or have their hair pulled
back for champs), goggles, chairs, sunblock, bug spray and towels for your
swimmer.
2.We will have a team
area inside and outside:
SEATING
- Each team will have a designated seating section of 125 seats inside the facility.
- Fawn Lake’s team section is located at the end of the racing pool. We got lucky!
- Outdoor seating is available and encouraged, especially if you are going to be at Champs all day. Tents and canopies are welcome in the grass section between Rouse building and soccer fields. Direct side entry to the swimming pool will be available from this outside location. PA system will be in use outside so families can keep track of the swim meet.
- Please be kind, respectful and courteous!
FOOD and DRINK
- Food is not allowed in the pool area. Athletes may have a packaged snack or two in their swim bag.
- Everyone is encouraged to bring their own refillable water bottle. Water fountains are available at the Rouse Center for refills.
- WATER SERVICE WILL NOT BE PROVIDED TO WORKING VOLUNTEERS.
- Concessions will be handled by Rouse. Menu, pricing and details to come.
- Coolers welcome OUTSIDE ONLY.
Swimmers must stay in the team area since champs will move quickly
and we need everyone in the same place.

****Please supervise your swimmer at champs, we want everyone staying
safe at this meet. Please encourage card games and activities that allow
swimmers to sit with the team.
Champs Timeline:
- 10 and under swimmers arrive at 6:30am. Find your coaches at our team area for numbers!
Warm-ups: 7am (BE ON TIME)
Meet start: 8am
- 11 and up swimmers arrive at 10:00am. Find your coaches at our team area for numbers! ( BE ON TIME)
Warm-ups: 10:30am Meet start: 11:00am
The events for second session include:Graduated Relays,100 IM, Medley Relays,100 Free
- After this middle chunk session three should be around 1pm-5pm roughly.
CHAMPS T-SHIRTS $20
Champs t-shirts will be on sale. Cash or check only. First come, first served. THEY WILL SELL OUT. If you really want a t-shirt and aren’t coming until 2nd or 3rd session, make arrangements with a teammate that will be there early in the morning.
4. Our
End of Season Celebration on the pool deck is Saturday, July 22nd from
7-10pm. During the celebration, Coach Nicole will recognize swimmers
from each age group and congratulate all our swimmers. We ask families
to bring a dessert to share with a serving utensil. Sign-up list will be
created soon. Keep a look out! Swimmers may play in the pool following
the awards ceremony.
