Good Afternoon!

It has come to the attention of the Board that an additional child (unrelated to the prior incident) has tested positive for COVID-19.  That child did attend swim practice this morning.  Given the nature of the practice, the parents of the child have contacted all the families they believe to have been in close contact with their child, but it is impossible to determine all the children that may have been exposed.  

We have contacted the Virginia Department of Health for guidance and feel strongly that the safest option for our children is to cancel the meet tonight and postpone all other swim team festivities this week.   We encourage all parents to monitor for symptoms.  I have asked a representative from the VA Department of Health to provide additional information about the risks to our children in regard to their exposure today at practice.  I will share that information as it becomes available.  

I have contacted the HOA and will be in touch with a date in August for an end of season celebration once it is approved by the HOA Board.  It is our hope that we will be able to have an inter-squad meet in the coming weeks, along with senior recognitions and an end of season celebration.
