Volunteer Positions and Meet RSVP Opening Tomorrow
June 8th
Hello Flier Families!
We are just 2 weeks away from our first swim meet! I want to provide you with information on how to RSVP your swimmer and how to sign up for volunteer positions for our meets. These tasks will be done through Swimtopia.
On Wednesday (June 9th) at 7PM I will open availability for volunteer positions for all 5 of our meets in Swimtopia. Ideally, you are signing up for the entire season tomorrow based on your availability so we can plan accordingly. I understand this may not be possible, but if you have your schedule mapped out please feel free to RSVP and sign up for the entire season tomorrow once the slots open.
To RSVP/Sign Up to Volunteer:
- Go to our Swimtopia Site: https://fawnlakefliers.swimtopia.com
- Select the 3rd Tab on Top "Meets and Events" and Select "Sign Up Calendar"
- You will see a list of every meet with two separate sign ups. "Meet Entry" is where you will declare your swimmer's RSVP and "Job Sign Up" is where you will select your volunteer role.
A list of all volunteer jobs will be displayed with shift times. Once you've selected your job and shift do not forget to select the "Save Assignments button". (This year slot 1 will be all events for our 10 and under swimmers and slot 2 will be all events for our 11 and up swimmers).
As a reminder, some positions for swim meets require training prior to signing up to volunteer. Trained positions include: Head Clerk of Course, Head Timer, Head Data, Referee, Starter and Stroke & Turn Judge. All training this year can be done online and is free. This is very beneficial for our team and we should take advantage and train as many volunteers as are willing. Volunteer certifications are good for two seasons. You may train for multiple positions. The more people we have trained the more we can share the responsibility of these positions. I'm attaching instructions for how to sign up to train with RSL. I've spoken to many of you who are planning to complete training, but won't have it complete before sign ups come out tomorrow. This is ok. Go ahead and sign up for the trained position and please complete the training ASAP. Don't forget to notify me when you are done so I can update our records.
Our volunteer policy requires families to volunteer for 5 sessions. Swim Meets are run 100% by parent volunteers and being fully staffed with volunteers helps our meets run smoothly, safely and timely. Thank you for supporting your swimmer and the team by volunteering!
Please message me if you have any questions about volunteering. I know we have many new families this year and my job is to support you so please be in touch if you need direction. I'm happy to help!
Sincerely,
Lauren Stover
Volunteer Coordinator
