Are you ready for swim club tomorrow?
Hi everyone! I am so excited to see our swimmers back in the pool!!!
I just wanted to send out a few bits of information that will help us run more smoothly as we start this week. Please discuss the following with your swimmers so they are informed. This is very different from what swim team practice used to look like.
Come prepared! Please arrive 15 to 20 minutes ahead of your session, if able, so we can get everyone's temperature and health questions done. Have your swimmer use the bathroom before you leave the house. Come with swimsuit on. If your swimmer wants to wear a cap, the cap MUST be put on prior to entering the pool deck. We will not be able to assist swimmers in putting caps on due to social distancing guidelines. Parents will NOT be allowed on deck and must remain behind the gate. Swimmers cannot share caps, goggles or sunblock so make sure you have these items ready to go.
Tomorrow, each family will be assigned a specific cone or place on the pool deck. Volunteers will help show the swimmers where their spot is located. All belongings will be placed on the deck. Use of tables and chairs on pool deck is not allowed. Swimmers need to remain at their designated spot until instructed by Coach Nicole or Coach Genna.
At the end of the swim session, the swimmers will exit the pool deck OPPOSITE from where they entered, on the other side of the HOA clubhouse building. Hand sanitizer will be at both the entrance and exit.
Please remind your swimmers that amidst their excitement they must maintain social distancing! No huddles, hugs, high-fives (I know this is going to be so hard for them).
For those of you volunteering this week, you should have received a separate email from me. Sorry for flooding your inbox. I forgot to mention, because swim club is held outdoors, masks are not required while volunteering. However, you may certainly wear your own if you desire.
Lastly, for the new families and a reminder to returning families, there is a SwimTopia app which you can put on your phone and be connected. The app is helpful for somethings but the app and the website are not interchangeable yet (it's in the works by SwimTopia). You CAN NOT sign up to volunteer or make changes via the app. However, once you are signed up to volunteer, you can easily see the slots you agreed to via the app. The app does have a setting where you can receive push notifications. I use the push notifications from time to time when I have a last minute volunteer cancellation or need to quickly deliver a short message to everyone. In the past, we have also used the push notifications to let parents know of cancellations due to inclement weather. I highly encourage putting the app on your phone!
Can't wait to see everyone tomorrow!
